Youth and the Law

YouthLaw Tino Rangatiratanga Taitamariki is a community law centre for children and young people throughout Aotearoa/New Zealand that has its own website. The aim of their website is to provide access to information about how the law can assist children and/or young people to overcome issues that may be affecting them.

All the information on their website is written for children and young people and seeks to present the law in language that our community can understand. There are over 60 different publications on Youthlaw's site covering legal topics such as Educational issues (special needs, suspensions, enrolment, drug testing etc), Family issues (leaving home, adoption, marriage, foster care), Health & Safety issues (ACC, counselling, medical treatment, privacy), Criminal (diversion, courts, lawyers, shoplifting, drugs & alcohol) Traffic, Employment, Human Rights.
