What we can and cannot do

Baywide can assist clients with a wide range of issues including:

  • Consumer concerns
  • Privacy issues
  • Legal Systems
  • Maori Land Issues
  • Motor vehicle purchase
  • Domestic violence
  • Education or disciplinary action
  • Criminal and traffic offending
  • Care of children
  • Family Court
  • Employees rights (usually restricted to Information and/or Advice only)
  • Tenancy or Disputes Tribunal

Baywide are not able to assist for lega issues concerning:

  • Relationship Property
  • Business and Commercial Law
  • Drafting Wills and Trusts
  • Taxation Law
  • Enviroment Law
  • Employer work related issues
  • Buying and selling property
  • Clients who have already instructed their own barrister or solicitor
  • Preparing limited licence applications for clients

Baywide's primary focus is to encourage clients to:

  • Act for themselves in accordance with New Zealan's existing laws and customs
  • To seek a solution that avoids unnecessary procrastination or litigation

Baywide is committed to assisting clients, subject to:

  • Staff availability, work and time constraints
  • Full co-operation from the client
  • The need to prioritise assistance according to the seriousness of the issue
