What we can and cannot do
Baywide can assist clients with a wide range of issues including:
- Consumer concerns
- Privacy issues
- Legal Systems
- Maori Land Issues
- Motor vehicle purchase
- Domestic violence
- Education or disciplinary action
- Criminal and traffic offending
- Care of children
- Family Court
- Employees rights (usually restricted to Information and/or Advice only)
- Tenancy or Disputes Tribunal
Baywide are not able to assist for lega issues concerning:
- Relationship Property
- Business and Commercial Law
- Drafting Wills and Trusts
- Taxation Law
- Enviroment Law
- Employer work related issues
- Buying and selling property
- Clients who have already instructed their own barrister or solicitor
- Preparing limited licence applications for clients
Baywide's primary focus is to encourage clients to:
- Act for themselves in accordance with New Zealan's existing laws and customs
- To seek a solution that avoids unnecessary procrastination or litigation
Baywide is committed to assisting clients, subject to:
- Staff availability, work and time constraints
- Full co-operation from the client
- The need to prioritise assistance according to the seriousness of the issue
