Problems over PAYE, GST, Family Assistance, Child Support and income tax are often complicated and require expert assistance to resolve. The Inland Revenue Dept does however have its own website which provides taxpayers with detailed information on their obligations and the dispute resolution processes that are available where the taxpayer feels their tax obligations have been wrongly assessed by the department.
Where a person feels they have been treated unfairly or in a high-handed manner, they may also be able to lodge a complaint with the Ombudsman. This part of the website deals with some commonly occurring queries that taxpayers often seek advice and help with.
