Life Imprisonment

An indeterminate sentence of imprisonment (i.e. the sentence continues to apply for the entire life of the offender, although the offender can be released on parole) that is generally only imposed on offenders convicted of murder.

Prisoners are only eligible for parole after serving the minimum period of imprisonment set by the court (the minimum term for which is ten years).
