How do I contact Baywide?

We encourage clients to first contact their local Citizens Advice Bureau to see if they can receive information or advice from the Bureau. If the matter is a complex one, the Citizens Advice Bureau will make a referral to Baywide. Baywide can be contacted direct if the matte ris complex or urgent.  Appointments must be made.

Do I have to declare my financial position and employment status?

Yes! Of necessity and to comply with our charter, Baywide has to limit the service to those members of the community who cannot otherwise access legal resources.

I live in a rural area.  How do I make sure I get face to face legal advice if I need it?

You can contact Bywide by telephone or mail, making sure that staff understand your situation. There may be an outreach service near you. Baywide works with community law centres in Rotorua, Hamilton and Tairawhiti to cover isolated communities.

I'm a young person. Can I use Baywide?

Yes! Baywide will involve parents only if the law requires them to or if the young person agrees. Baywide also works closely with "Youthlaw" which is a national community alw service for young people.

How can I support Baywide's work?

Baywide is a community based organisation that welcomes offers of help and ideas to improve its services. Please tell your friends and family about our service. We need the community's support.

Do I need to pay anything for attending Baywide?

You may be requested to contribute towards disbursements incurred on your behalf. Donations are gratefully accepted and are used for special projects such as purchasing of additional equipment and legal resources. Receipts are issued for all donations receive.
