Free Legal Advice

Wellington Community Law Centre offers a range of free legal advice sessions. Our aim is to provide free legal advice to help those who cannot access other legal services.

Sessions are staffed by qualified lawyers who volunteer at the Law Centre. Lawyers are available to give initial legal advice but may refer to another lawyer, the Disputes Tribunal, or another community service for ongoing assistance.

For most sessions we do not operate an appointment system and people are seen on a first come, first served basis. We do not give advice over the phone and we are generally not able to offer specific advice on wills, trusts, estates, property including relationship property, or commercial matters.
