About Southland Community Law

Legal Status

The Southland Community Law Centre is an Incorporated Society and was established in 1991. The Society has Charitable Status and the constitution can be viewed at www.societies.govt.nz

Structure

A Management Committee is responsible for the governance of the Community Law Centre (CLC) and usually meets monthly to receive financial, data and service reports regarding the CLC's activities. Policy development is also an important function of the Management Committee.

The Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the CLC and the legal services that are provided by a team of seven other staff. Implementing policy as determined by the Management Committee is also the responsibility of the Manager.
